The following obituary was taken from the Beckley Post Herald, dated Friday, May 11, 1951.

Mrs. Sallie Adkins Taken; Rites To Be

Hinton, May 10 - Mrs. Sallie Adkins, 63, of Meadow Creek, died at 12:45 o'clock this morning at the Hinton Hospital, following an illness of one week. She had been suffering from a heart condition for the past four years.

Born near Sandstone, she was a lifelong resident of Summers county.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Meadow Creek church, and burial will follow in the Meadow Creek cemetery.

The body was removed this afternoon from the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors to the home of a son, David Adkins.

Survivors include four sons; Isaac, Luther, David and Peter, all of Meadow Creek; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hatfield, of Cool Ridge; and Miss Delsie Adkins, of Meadow Creek; two brothers; Frad Bragg, of Anstead; and Frank Bragg, of Beckley; and one sister, Mrs. Ellen Stevens, of Hardy, Ky. Seven grandchildren also survive.
